Overview
JYC Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained leaders meet with younger teens (5th Grade to 8th Grade) in schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the young people can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. Each week the leaders facilitate discussions about the Bible asking and answering questions that teenagers have, and looking in the Bible as a governing authority for living a Christian life. This action-packed time also includes songs, and Scripture memory, and games that gets teenagers interacting with one another.
Each week a Bible study that gets students engaged and discussing the truths of Biblical principles. Club time also includes music that reaches a young teenager’s heart, Scripture memorization that connects the Bible to daily life, and games or other activities that focus on the lesson’s theme.
Each club includes a clear presentation of the Gospel and students are invited (not pressured) to trust the Lord Jesus as Savior. Every club also includes strong discipleship training to build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth. All participants are encouraged (but not required) to attend a local church.
Christians who are concerned for young teens work together volunteering their time and energy to teach the JYC Club. They are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to have a club that is focuses of nurturing relationship with students. Teachers are asked to sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of the organization. Adults working with the program are screened according to our child protection policy.
Yes! The Gospel has been taught freely in public schools all over the world for some time. Now children in the U.S. have that opportunity, too! In 2001 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Good News Clubs v. Milford Central School that religious organizations can meet in public schools in the United States after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. Children attend Junior Youth Challenge Club only with their parents’ permission.
